- M08Y28. juni 2026Missing some of the magic in the previous entries. King Fu Panda 3 is unfortunately a bit of step down for me. Nothing seems quite as developed. If I had to sum it up, I'd say that this film feels like it was made more out of obligation rather than there being a story worth telling. The humour and good vibes are all present and correct and it certainly won't bore you to tears, but it just falls a little flat. The biggest let down for me was the villain. Kai, while having a good voice actor and banging score, was insanely dull. Everything he does can just be summed up as "because evil". Whereas the previous 2 films at least did SOME leg work to make the villains understandable and almost sympathetic, we are supposed to just accept Kai's evilness at face value. The Panda hidden village plot point is annoying. Also the Pandas all have super duper Chi and can bring people back from the dead? What? Why? Don't know. The audio and visuals were fine here. The film relied on a LOT of montage cuts and stylised sections, but it felt like it was done just to make it cheaper instead of for any artistic reason.
