- Pascal Bollier26 de dezembro de 2025there are good and bad things about this one. personally, i felt entertained for the most part of the movie. good performances, direction and cinematography. the movie does not take itself too seriously, but it also does not go full camp. worth a watch.

I love the King Kong suit (it’s my favourite design) and I love how they made him more sympathetic, but some of the scenes with him and Dwan was disturbingly sexual to the point it was really awkward and weird. Also some of he best scenes from the 1933 King Kong were cut, like the dinosaur fight, cave fight, tribal attack, pit scene and there’s NO EMPIRE STATES BUILDING? Huh? And the cave fight (well fights cuz he fights both a Plesiosaur and a Pterosaur) is replaced with some boring giant anaconda fight with Kong, it’s slow and boring and has barely any action. The pacing is really slow and the movie feels slow, there are no dinosaurs or any prehistoric animals at all! You removed what made Skull Island special! You removed anything unique about it and now it’s just…a island, however I do like some of the characters and I think Kong’s attack on the city is actually better than the 1933 attack (not counting the World Trade Center/Empire States Building fight, 1933 obviously did that better), this movie is still good tho
