King Kong Ratings & Reviews
- theLillyPadFebruary 17, 2025The special effects hold up surprisingly well, especially with the iconic T-Rex fight. The movie pretends to have deeper themes and rich melodrama--and certainly, some meaning can be drawn out of the profound confusion and loneliness of the titular ape--but the true draw of the film comes from its adventure elements.
- castlegaryNovember 3, 2025Very well done. Incredibly advanced for its age.
- NotoriousEdgeSeptember 8, 2025A classic in American film that changed cinema forever and holds up better than it has any right to. But most importantly it gives us the ultimate Monkey
- alexnoaholdmateDecember 13, 2025The special effects haven't aged well, but there is clearly the bones of a great film here.
- Mister ArnAugust 8, 2025“King Kong” is the classic beauty-and-the-beast tale, with an early voyage that builds intrigue, a middle act rich in creature spectacle, and a final act that delivers a tragic punch. Dated in parts, it remains a landmark in special effects and adventure storytelling.
- KylachamJune 20, 2025Another Classic. The claymation is dated, yet somehow remains charming unlike old CGI. It's an adventure, and modern audiences will still find it easy to become invested. The close-ups of Kong's face are something we could probably do with fewer of though...
