Jurassic World: Dominion Ratings & Reviews
- The Movie HaterSeptember 16, 2025These movies are so terrible man. I absolutely hate them.
- N8October 10, 2024How did we go from the masterpiece that was Jurassic Park to...this? The original film was a cinematic triumph, a thrilling adventure that also pondered complex ethical questions about scientific hubris and humanity's relationship with nature. It masterfully built suspense, culminating in genuinely terrifying sequences that solidified its place not just as an adventure classic, but as a touchstone in the horror genre. Jurassic World Dominion, on the other hand, feels like a hollow echo of its predecessor. Instead of forging its own path, it shamelessly panders to nostalgia, relying on cheap callbacks and cameos to elicit cheers from the audience. The movie felt like a blatant attempt to recapture the magic of the original without understanding what made it work. The film's action sequences, while technically impressive, lack the tension and ingenuity of Spielberg's original. The dinosaurs, once awe-inspiring creatures, are now reduced to CGI monsters in a generic action flick. The script is riddled with clichés and the characters are paper-thin, lacking the depth and complexity of their predecessors. Perhaps Dominion could have worked had it focused on exploring the consequences of dinosaurs coexisting with humans in a modern world. Imagine a film that delved into the ecological, social, and economic implications of such a scenario. Instead, we get a convoluted plot that feels completely disconnected from the thematic core of the original. Ultimately, Jurassic World Dominion is a disappointing reminder of how Hollywood often prioritizes profit over artistic integrity. It's a film that sacrifices substance for spectacle. It's a shame that a franchise with such potential has been reduced to a pale imitation of its former glory, serving as a cautionary tale about the dangers of blindly chasing nostalgia.
- jackmeatSeptember 14, 2025My quick rating - 6.3/10. I have been a fan of these from the beginning. I didn't even mind the thrown-together cash grabs.
- GemsDoesWatchAugust 26, 2025this was VERY BAD nostalgia bait!
- MepAugust 24, 2025What a disappointment
- GeorgeAugust 24, 2025Jurassic World: Dominion — 2.5/5 I went in wanting dinosaurs. Big, scary, teeth-chomping chaos. What I got was basically a bargain-bin spy movie where raptors show up every now and then like guest stars. The plot feels like it was copy-pasted from a dozen other action blockbusters, then sprinkled with just enough prehistoric flavor to remind you, “Hey, this is still Jurassic Park… kinda.” It’s loud, it’s flashy, and sure, there are some fun moments — but it never once feels like the same franchise that made us terrified of a kitchen scene with velociraptors. Instead, we’ve got globe-trotting, chase sequences, motorcycle stunts, and villains so cartoonish they might as well twirl mustaches. Honestly, they should’ve leaned all the way in and just called it Jurassic & Furious: Dino Drift. At least then I’d know what I was signing up for. Dinosaurs deserved better. We deserved better.
- Joey PelicanoAugust 12, 2025WOW. My expectations were low, but this movie somehow managed even to disappoint my subterranean expectations. It feels like something a third grader would come up with because they thought it was "cool" after being told the plot of Jurassic Park without ever having seen it. The writing and direction REALLY tank this movie, but I will admit to some of the CGI being pretty decent. Not all of it, but some of it. This is nothing more than the PEAK of the "fan service cash grab CGI garbage fest" genre of movie we've come to expect from these sequeal sequel sequel reboot sequels. ROUGH. Predictable. Terrible.
- maub17August 10, 2025Great! It captures both the spirit of Jurassic Park and Jurassic World altogether. Loved the easter eggs that were planted along the movie!
- Tyler SAugust 5, 2025"I had a dog once. He humped my leg so much I had a callous on my shin bone" I acknowledge all the problems other people have with this flick, regardless I had a good enough time with it. Dr. Ian Malcolm is definitely the highlight, stealing just about every scene he's in. Recommended for the diehard fans and people who can keep expectations in check, these sequels have always been inferior to the original. 👍 6/10
- ZokkiieAugust 5, 2025This should’ve been epic—the grand finale of both trilogies—but Dominion is a chaotic, overstuffed mess that forgets the dinosaurs in favor of a weird biotech thriller. The legacy cast is fun, but the script gives them little to work with, and the plot is all over the place. Even Jurassic Park III—for all its flaws—feels tighter and more focused than this. There are moments of spectacle, but it’s a disappointing send-off to a franchise that deserved better.
- neo21670May 31, 2025Nothing really serious in storytelling or character development, however a decent experience of 2h 40mins without any pacing issues.
- mickerdooAugust 3, 2025I know it's been done but I am a huge dino fan. I really enjoyed the action sequences. Loved seeing the JP alumni. Will watch again.
- Billy ZaneJanuary 10, 2025Better than the reviews make it out to be. Nothing will ever top the original, but if you like dinosaurs and action, it delivers.
- Ray HopkinJuly 30, 2025I really loved this, the way they showed how the dinosaurs were interacting in the everyday world. The return of the original cast members was also great, and I thought they complimented the new cast really well. Some of the action scenes were awesome, and I really liked the way they incorporated the storyline of how pharmaceutical companies would take advantage of situations like this, it's exactly what they would do!
- NonPlayableContentJune 14, 2025Nostalgia in my dinosaur movie 🤢
