- viktorsmi31 mars 2026A family friendly spy flick, that will test the parents' ability to suspend their disbelief with its nonsensical slapstick and cardboard cutout of a villain. A passable experience. Unlike the case with a typical underdog protagonist, Johnny's sheer stupidity interferes with his ability to learn from one's mistakes. As a result, the cardboard cutout protagonist has to explicitly oust himself as the villain. The UHD release also features little improvement over the standard Bluray and one scene appears to have been taken straight from the DVD release.
- ርልዪረ16 juin 2025Allthought I wouldn't rate it as a well thought artistic piece of art in the cultural aspect (such as a Kubrick movie, for example) Johnny Enlighs is probably the funniest movie I've ever seen. If you are in the mood for a good laugh out of a not 100% stupid movie, then, only then, its a must see. I saw it a year ago and I still remember Johnny's face and actions. I must admit that really stupid movies make me sometimes angry, this is not that kind of movie that has no sense at all, it has a clear setting, and a great cast (perfect cast if you're talking about Johnny's selection). Probably better than the Mr. Beans, "Johnny English" is a must see for those who laugh easily. Another very important hint: don't watch it alone. Watch it with someone who makes you laugh. The last hint: if you don't laugh, probably Blockbuster® gave you "Lost Highway" instead of "Johnny English", a pretty uncommon mistake.
- Zokkiie3 mars 2026The whole thing is just Rowan Atkinson stumbling through a spy movie like he actually belongs there, and it’s hilarious for it. The physical comedy and ridiculous situations carry it, even if the story itself is barely there. Some jokes fall flat, but overall it’s a light, easy watch that doesn’t take itself seriously.

This movie is one of those comedies that made me laugh so much because of how confidently it embraces its goofy style and how committed the lead actor is to every ridiculous moment. It takes the fun of spy films and turns it into something light, charming, and full of energy. Even when the jokes are silly, they work because the movie knows exactly what it wants to be. It delivers humor with a warm spirit and gives you an adventure that is entertaining from beginning to end. Rowan Atkinson is the heart of the entire film. His performance as Johnny English is hilarious because he plays the character with so much confidence, even when he has no idea what he is doing. The way he expresses emotion through his face, his voice, and his physical comedy makes every scene memorable. He takes simple moments and turns them into big laughs. What makes his character lovable is that he always tries his best, even when everything falls apart. His determination, mixed with his cluelessness, creates a character you want to root for. You can tell Rowan Atkinson put his whole personality into the role. The supporting cast adds even more charm. Ben Miller as Bough is the perfect partner for Johnny. He plays the calm, smart, and capable sidekick who tries to keep everything together while still believing in Johnny English no matter how ridiculous things get. Their chemistry creates some of the funniest moments in the film. Natalie Imbruglia brings elegance, strength, and humor to her role, and she gives the movie a nice balance with her grounded presence. The villain also adds personality and flair to the story, giving the adventure a fun and exaggerated threat that fits the tone of the movie. The story is simple but very enjoyable. It feels like a playful twist on spy films, especially the ones with dramatic missions and serious heroes. Instead of showing a perfect agent who never makes mistakes, the movie gives us someone who messes up constantly but never stops trying. That idea is funny, but it also has heart. The plot moves quickly and stays exciting without ever losing focus on the comedy. The movie keeps the energy up and constantly finds new ways to make the situation more ridiculous. The humor is the strongest part of the film. It uses physical comedy, misunderstandings, clever lines, and unexpected situations to create laughs.
