Absolutely unconscionable behavior. But John did more in his short life than most do in 100 years. He was one-of-a-kind and sorely missed...This is a great doc.

There's undoubtedly something about Candy, you just can't help but want to smile and laugh the second he comes on screen. You get to see a little bit behind the curtain, some of things that fueled him and some of the things that lurked in the corners of his mind, but mostly it keeps to the main road and plays on pleasant nostalgia. It was really nice to see how hard he tried to remain a present husband and father through the growth of his career, which makes it all the more heartbreaking that he was at work at the end of his life. I definitely won't be able to hear his name now without thinking of him as Johnny Toronto. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles will always be one of my all time greatest, in no small part due to this man.
