Jay Kelly Ratings & Reviews
- Michael Surber3d agoMaybe it's my age but dang, I related to this movie so much! George Clooney knocked out out of the park. I'm still trying to decide what to think of the actor he plays. Same with Adam Sandler. Dude has gotten really good at his craft. A terrific performance by everyone in this film. One of my favorite films of 2025, top five anyway.
- adam3199December 21, 2025very boring, Clooney does a bit of introspection, like anyone is really interested? No,
- cultfilmlikerDecember 17, 2025Oh, I should meet more people and make more memories? Thanks for the advice, Noah - I’M TRYING A bit overindulgent (cheesecake 🍰 reference) and a lackluster back half until the climax, which was the ultimate cheesy cheat code. Silvano my MVP. Keach is an award’s dark horse. Sandman wonderful. Clooney amazing. Jamie Demetriou!! Patty W & Isla as a couple? Nice cast! Noah + Greta acting in their own films = 💕
- thomasrogers753December 5, 2025“Can I go again?” GOD DAMM THIS MOVIE WAS SO GOOD, I can’t believe George Clooney still has this much charm
- MazzDecember 12, 2025A solid film worth watching. It seems like it may reflect Clooney’s life
- Andrew AmaviscaDecember 12, 2025Too cliche
- PlexecutionerXDecember 7, 2025Fantastic movie. George Clooney is great in this.
- Kevin WardDecember 4, 2025Ultra rich and famous movie star becomes dissatisfied and ponders his life’s regrets. Was the cost of success too great? This one is a tough one to connect with, at least for the first half. Clooney plays the titular, Jay Kelly, a Hollywood A-lister at the sunset of a storied career, but he’s longing now for the connections and relationships that took a backseat in pursuit of fame and success. Kelly is not the most likeable character, out of touch with reality, and somewhat blind to his privilege. It’s not until then latter half of the film that the theme’s become a little more relatable and explore trade offs of career and family. Every character seems to be experiencing some version of this. Billy Crudup has a sliding doors moment where he feels like Kelly stole the life and career he was supposed to have. And Adam Sandler who plays Kelly’s manager views Kelly as a friend, but is also completely reliant on Kelly for his own family’s livelihood. The transactional nature of their relationship can make the lines between friend and client pretty murky. There’s a lot of contrivances that makes sense the screenplay not feel believable. And again, Kelly’s A-list status makes him hard to relate to. You could explore similar themes with a much more relatable profession. That said, I do think the ending, particularly the last line, kind of magically lands everything and leaves you genuinely empathizing with Jay and his life’s choices (and regrets).
- TheAthasDecember 6, 2025This was not as good as I thought it was going to be. I don't know what else to say without spoiling the movie. It was not worth the two+ hour running time.
- way38December 6, 2025Really enjoyed this. Its a movie that needs tour full attention so turn those mobiles off.
