- Camilo GutierrezSeptember 24, 2025Different. And I don't think I'm wrong in considering it a classic and a benchmark in its genre.
- thereelvoiceApril 30, 2025Irreversible is one of the most upsetting films I have watched in years. It follows the day of a trio and you go through the story from the ending to the beginning. Once you realize what has taken place, the ending (beginning of their day) is all the more upsetting. Shot in what feels like one continuous run, Irreversible is relentless in its approach to make you feel disoriented and ultimately disgusted. This film is truly an endurance test and I must add a strong trigger warning for sexual abuse and violence. A well shot and well acted film…I’m still not sure if I would recommend it. Watch at your own risk.
- aaravsingh19August 27, 2025The moment the audience was shown the reason why Alex left the party, the movie got over for me (Original cut) as after that it adds nothing much to character intentions; instead, it takes away and dilutes the story with repeated acts and conversations about sex and unnecessary nudity. Camera work was good and really went well with the original chronology and the metaphors Noé used. Loved Bellucci's acting in those 9 minutes: terror in her eyes, stretching her hand to seek help but with frozen fingers, and in the end, her dragging herself away — brilliant.
- NiztradamusAugust 23, 2025First up, I have seen the original intended order version. That means I have watched the movie beginning with the last scene and slowly made my way to the beginning. There is also the straight cut version that follows the traditional chronological order. I wish I had seen this version because the movie would have gotten a much better rating from me. Irreversible (the original cut) starts by the ending of the movie. You will be confused and disorientated what the fuck is going on. The twisting and turning camera works very well if you want to feel nauseous. Later the infamous, single cut, 9 minute rape happens. Bravo Noe, you made even me feel disgusted by what I have witnessed. That doesn't happen often. Sadly the movie will become tediously boring after that. Noe, at least for me, failed spectacularly in regard to his intention of making us feel terrified knowing what will happen to the characters. Do yourself a favor and watch the straight cut version first.
- fraggle67February 25, 2025Personally I prefer the straight cut over the original version. The story is much easier to follow but I understand why it was released in reverse order.
- sopulaMay 29, 2025Since seeing this movie about 6 months ago I have thought of it more than any other movie. Quite disturbing Jan-2024
- godzill416April 26, 2025Say what you want about the moral content and certain scenes, but the cinematography is great. The spinning camera and the strobing ending especially were fantastic to me. Cool theme at the end, alongside the spinning camera enforcing it. Good.
- bemi82April 1, 2025One of the most twisted movies I've ever seen. It's burnt into my memory.
