I, Robot
Directed by Alex ProyasWhere to Watch I, Robot
- "THE MOVIE FANATIC"5d agoAs I'm writing this review the year "2035" is only 9 years away the year that "I Robot" is set at which is crazy!! I remember like it was yesterday when it was in Cinemas in "2004" and when I watched it for the first time I really liked this film. I love the lore behind it such as the 3 laws that the robots must abide to. The whole tragic backstory with Will Smith's character which is the main reason why he has a problem trusting robots. There's a lot of layers and depth about "I Robot" and that's something I always love & appreciate in a film. I love the whole look & design of all the types of robots from the old models right upto the newest models; that is something I've always loved about this film they couldn't have made them look any better, I also think that the effects still hold up as well. I only have one significant issue with its thd reason why I didn't give it the maximum ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating and that is the ending really sequel baited us I thought. I just felt that they could have further developed the whole story it just felt unfinished. I always thought that we would get a sequel mainly because of that ending. Again there's more that they can expand on here, this movie just felt like a foundation instead of a completed project.
- ርልዪረFebruary 15, 2025Although in general not a big fan of Will Smith, he is excellent in this straight, non-wise cracking role. The story is really good, grips you throughout and is carried along at a good pace. It is not a film that over dwells on the 'marvels' of the technology or the beaty of shots as some sci-fi films do. Although it is well shot and the CGI is great. You are easily convinced with the world that is displayed. That robots are a fully acepted and trusted part of this world's daily life. As it was filmed as a detective story, you only really learn what Will Smith discovers, which really works as a story device. The robot Sunny and in particular the portrayal of his facial expressions help make the film. The robots are definitely not just men in suits.
- ZokkiieMay 2, 2026Really fun movie with a solid pace and a concept that still works. It’s got that early 2000s sci-fi charm, a bit cheesy in places, but never dull. Will Smith carries it with ease — the kind of performance that keeps everything engaging even when things get a bit predictable. Some effects look dated now, but it still holds up as an easy, entertaining watch you can revisit without much effort.
