In the stark beauty of 19th Century Snowdonia a young girl tries desperately to hold her home together. Struggling with her mother's mysterious illness, her father's absence and a ruthless mining company encroaching on their land.     Folk horror at its best. Bleak, uncompromising, menacing, measured and scary. Beautifully shot exteriors of the wild landscape and the constant whining wind never mives from a claustrophobicexperience.. Let down by the implausible casting of a black physician for North Wales, although a minor part, at the time of the start of the industrial revolution. Why? Every shot is an album cover. A really unique film.
