What should be gravitas feels like going through the motions... no fire, no wit, just a weary, predictable flatness that drains every scene of tension or charm. A tedious, forgettable effort from someone who used to be a magnetic actor.

With so many films circling cancer and loss, and having people in my own life either dealing with or recently passed from cancer perhaps I’m a little more vulnerable to these stories this year, even if you can feel heartstrings being intentionally tugged in the end, like, tidy in a way that feels engineers. That still works on me sometimes, and it does here. Solid debut.
