A new Disc Jockey is shipped from Crete to Vietnam to bring humor to Armed Forces Radio. He turns the studio on its ear and becomes wildly popular with the troops but runs afoul of the middle management who think he isn't G.I. enough. While he is off the air, he tries to meet the Vietnamese, especially girls, and begins to have brushes with the real war that never appears on the radio.

This movie *is good*, but it was ruined by my friends and an inside joke. It has heart, it has comedy, and is another good film over the Vietnam War.

I've never been much of a Robin Williams fan. I've enjoyed a handful of his movies, but never understood his mass appeal. I'm 29yrs old, and am just now getting around to this one from him. Let me just say...what an iconic classic this is. It's not your standard war-time film. Williams' humor isn't my style, but this one fires on all cylinders for me. There's so much to appreciate and enjoy in this movie, and he obviously is a huge reason for that. His charisma and energetic, confident personality in the midst of such a dark and confusing time period this movie is set in makes for such a powerhouse of a film. The two "bad guys" with Bruno Kirby and JT Walsh really sell it as well. A great film that receives the very rare 5 star rating from me. It's not my favorite movie of all time, but it's up there in my Top 20 list for sure!

Robin Williams doesn’t have a bad movie. Change my mind.

🤣🎙️🎵Dj "Good Morning, Vietnam" is truly Robin Williams at his best. As anarchic DJ Adrian Cronauer in 1965 Saigon, he makes sure that you never stop laughing. I really liked what he did with the tape of Richard Nixon's speech, and then his comment about the bombing of a restaurant. Most amazing is that he ad-libbed the whole thing (but hey, that's Robin Williams). Maybe Cronauer wasn't that wacky in real life, but every one of Williams' comments makes the movie worthwhile. The soundtrack even includes his monologues (you'll go crazy over the imitation of Lyndon Johnson, and the commentary from "Roosevelt E. Roosevelt"). A comedy classic in every sense.

This is a movie I grew up watching. I watched it also, then adulthood took over and it's been 20 years since I last watched it. It's still brilliant, the soundtrack is perfect and let's be honest. Williams is hands down one of the best actors of my youth by far! I can't wait to let my kids see this.

It’s got everything that makes a great Robin Williams movie: heart, laughs, and characters.

One of my favorites with Robin Williams, "I'll never forget your faces" rip💯❤️

Two Fantastic actors in one movie, Robin Williams and Forest Whitaker, Some things in this movie aged so so badly, but it's my favorite movie, probably of all time.
