Gone with the Wind Ratings & Reviews
- KylachamFebruary 24, 2025The movie is unapologetic and balances a sense of grandeur with intimacy well. Vivien Leigh sparkles and shines!
- BrianSeptember 7, 2025One of best movies of all time! watched multliple times.
- darthtoonSeptember 3, 2025Beautifully shot, the Cinematography is a master piece, won a ton of awards including Oscars for Best Supporting Actress for Hattie McDaniel, Best Actor and Actress, Clark Gable, and Vivien Leigh,
- Rob MacKinnonAugust 1, 2025Yes, this is a racist confederate propaganda fantasy, but man is it effective. Very well acted, extremely compelling (especially the first half), and gorgeous to look at. Blockbuster Hollywood melodramatic myth-making firing on all cylinders.
- mickerdooJuly 2, 2025Only made worthwhile by Rhett, Mammy and Melanie. Scarlett was abhorrently awful. Hard to watch her treat people so bad. Ashley also sucks.
- Rowan KrzysiakFebruary 12, 2025Seriously...this is long. Like over 3.5 hours long. With that time there is at least detail oozing out of every shot, set, costume and character. Is it worth it though? The story is merely nice enough and the whole yearning love thing is dealt with in such a dated fashion that to me it became a bit of an irritation. Glad it's done and without regret but there's nothing particularly memorable and I'd never want to see it again.
- Dan S TurpinJanuary 26, 2025It is still a towering landmark of film, quite simply because it tells a good story, and tells it wonderfully well. Gable and Leigh jump off the screen with their performances and become icons. Hattie McDaniel was the first black woman to win for BS Actress. Lots of other firsts in the film! For the weaklings in the audience, yes the Civil War was fought over slavery, we know that- Ken Burns told us that... point?
