Ghost Ship Ratings & Reviews
- ርልዪረAugust 23, 2025Honestly people may judge me for this rating, but I honestly enjoy this movie. I watch it all the time. The opening act is the best I have seen in a horror movie. Its one of my fave cheesy horror movies.
- Matthew WallisNovember 25, 2025A pretty good watch, and did a good job of drop feeding the relevant plot details throughout
- Halim MellickAugust 18, 2025I don’t know why this movie has such low ratings. It’s a somewhat original spin on the horror tropes of its time. Reminded me a lot of Event Horizon but on water. Special effects are fantastic (besides the external miniatures) especially the opening. Definitely worth a watch if you’re into horror
- BarsNoHooksNovember 1, 2025A cool 2.5/5 I always watch for the feels .. def a product of its time .. cheesy horror done right.
- Aaron SavageAugust 24, 2025Alright movie, i guess. The opening scene is pretty brutal but unrealistic, the rest is your average thriller flick, not horror.
- RichardOctober 21, 2025Saw it in the cinema, bought it on DVD, because that opening scene alone earned a permanent spot in horror history. This one’s a moody, metal scored ghost story wrapped in early 2000s horror aesthetics: grimy, stylish and unapologetically over the top. A salvage crew boards a long lost ocean liner drifting in the Bering Sea, only to find that the real cargo is trauma, betrayal and one hell of a wire scene. Gabriel Byrne anchors the cast, Julianna Margulies brings some grounded grit and Karl Urban shows up just before his Lord of the Rings breakout, playing a scrappy salvage tech with a torch in hand and zero survival instincts. The plot’s a bit patchy, but the atmosphere is thick with rust, rot and that deliciously dated CGI glow. It’s part haunted house, part maritime mystery and part nu metal music video and somehow, it works. Critics weren’t kind, but honestly? It’s fun. It’s spooky. It’s got a killer soundtrack and a ghost girl who deserved better.
- Kat ApplebyOctober 10, 2025Absolutely cheesy but I love it. I think this movie gets way more hate than it deserves. The opening is great and sets the tone for the rest of the movie. It’s fun, it’s spooky and I’ve watched it more than once.
