Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga Ratings & Reviews
- Andrew Clout5d agoAnother franchise which should have ended.
- Kevin Ward7d agoIt’s not Fury Road. I knew going in that this would be the case. But it’s even more of a change in gears than I expected. Sweeping and episodic in scope, it aims at building out the world of the wasteland, and enriching it with character and history. That is not to say that this downshift in narrative has stripped away the action and spectacle. Not in the slightest. The battle sequences and action set-pieces are still god-tier. See it in a theater with a proper sound system because the sound design goes hard. Bottom line, is this is a must watch in the theater. This kind of sh🤩 is what the theatrical experience is built for. Hemsworth performance is off the rails, and I was here for it. Anya held her own. I think I still prefer Charlize in the role, but I’d bet there’s plenty that will claim the opposite. I was legitimately taken aback at the approach Miller took here. The cynical part of my brain fully expected the studio to push for him to just recreate Fury Road with a new coat of paint. But thank the cinema gods for the gift that is George Miller. No, this is not Fury Road or even as good as Fury Road. But somehow I suspect that Furiosa has ratcheted up my enjoyment of Fury Road even higher. 🤩🤩
- CraigJune 22, 2025I enjoyed it but IMHO it wasn't as good as Fury Road before it
- TanalienNovember 2, 2024Furiosa is an emotionally rich, but ultimately unsatisfying ride. Its status as a prequel held back its potential - as so much of the story had already been told. And if you haven't seen Mad Max: Fury Road, then you will be annoyed by what you are expected to know.
- RipLinesManApril 8, 2025Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga isn’t Event Horizon (1997), but it rages with the same apocalyptic energy—less hell in space, more hell on wheels, with engines howling like damned souls. It doesn’t open a portal, it is the portal—sand-blasted, fuel-soaked, and burning straight into myth.

- Mister ArnMay 18, 2025The over-the-top elements in “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” made it challenging to enjoy it fully. The leaders' sheer wastefulness and madness were overwhelming. However, the incredible action and stunts are impressive enough to carry the film.
- ScottDecember 26, 2024Furiosa presents 2 possible answers to its own question: "As the world falls around us, how must we brave its cruelties?". Refuse to perpetuate that cruelty and leave, or tear yourself and everyone around you apart. Not as relentlessly paced as Fury Road, but with setpieces that rise to (and even exceed) the first movie, Furiosa manages to feel like an extension of the first movie even a decade apart.
- jackmeatMarch 4, 2025My quick rating - 7.8/10. In the vast, desolate expanse of a post-apocalyptic wasteland, George Miller once again transports us to the brutal and unforgiving world of Mad Max. This flick is a high-octane, adrenaline-pumping thrill ride that delves deep into the origins of one of the franchise’s most compelling characters, Furiosa. The plot centers around Furiosa (played by Alyla Browne in her younger years) who rises against the tyrannical ruler Dementus (Chris Hemsworth) in a relentless pursuit of her homeland. Alongside her are a group of fierce female prisoners, deranged worshippers, and a big can of whoop-ass. Together, they navigate a perilous journey filled with explosive action and poignant moments of camaraderie and resilience. The action scenes are nothing short of spectacular. Miller has outdone himself, crafting sequences that are both breathtaking and brutal, showcasing the harsh reality of this dystopian world. The choreography is meticulously executed, with every car chase and combat scene leaving you anxiously awaiting the next. The wasteland itself is a character, rendered in hauntingly beautiful detail that makes the world feel both vast and suffocatingly claustrophobic. Alyla Browne's performance as the young Furiosa is exceptional. She brings a raw intensity to the role, capturing the character’s fierce determination and vulnerability. Her portrayal provides a deeper understanding of Furiosa's motivations and the experiences that shaped her into the formidable warrior we first met in Fury Road. And do not fret for Anya Taylor-Joy taking over the older version since she effortless continues with an equally spectacular performance. Miller's storytelling is masterful, weaving a tale of vengeance that is both personal and epic in scale. He provides a rich backstory for Furiosa, which I believe she needed, answering questions and expanding the lore in a way that feels satisfying. The film is a testament to his vision, offering a deeper exploration of the themes and characters that have made the Mad Max series so enduring. If you are wondering about good ole' Max Rockatansky's presence, he does make an appearance, albeit briefly. His cameo is a clever nod to the franchise’s roots, and while fleeting, it’s a moment that fans will appreciate. The flick is a well-made, gripping tale of vengeance and survival. It stands as a worthy addition to the Mad Max universe, offering both a thrilling ride and a compelling exploration of one of its most intriguing characters. George Miller has once again delivered a film that is as thought-provoking as it is exhilarating, solidifying Furiosa’s place as a central figure in this iconic saga. If you have been snoozing on this sequel for some reason, don't. It is well worth the watch.
- HumptyFebruary 23, 2025Seriously the best movie and most underrated movie of 2024!
- Corey B.March 2, 2025Post Apocalypse Mulan-ified Kill Bill.
- DjREXFebruary 22, 2025They took time but made it worth.
- RickFebruary 12, 2025With names like Scabrous Scrotus and Rictus Erectus you know you are in for a good time. How do you follow up the best action movie ever? By making a prequel that makes the original an even better movie. As a side note, we got more young Furiosa than I expected and I’m glad we did. Alayla Browne was absolutely fantastic in the role.
