I don't know if it's an accurate depiction of what went on at boot camp and in Vietnam, and I hate to say I "enjoyed" a film about war, but it's actually really funny in a dark sort of way.

It was AMAZING! It teaches me a lot about what they were like in war. I am actually learning about it right now in school and this movie helped me get an A+ on my science paper! Thank you so much to everyone who made this movie it really helped me out in school and in life. It was a great plot twist when the "fat guy" was getting punished in really terrible ways and then killed there captain and then killed himself wow I thought he would just be happy that he learned how to move his gun but I was wrong....... I am not gonna spoil anymore so if you see this before the movie........................................... GO WATCH IT IT'S SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!

A very poinient pshycological look at war (I'm sure it was actually worse than portrayed). Good to see that war wasn't gloryfied in anyway

my confusions of honor were abundant, but after watching this film i feel myself now enlightened to how the nation’s hierarchy of reverence descends in order: billionaires -> athletes -> rockstars -> actors -> millionaires -> and only then, public servants and veterans. what shocked me most was not the brutality of the marines’ training, but how a society that sends its young men to war seems to save its deepest admiration for those who never leave the stage.

two very chilling payoffs all of the boys remind you of real life people you may have met and especially the big boy prvt pile who somehow was perfectly portrayed as a realistic misunderstood potentially unstable man who really did not need what he got very good

What can you say, from the master Stanley Kubrick. Has to be on the list of the best films of all time. A masterpiece.

five stars for the first half, one and a half stars for the second. the second half felt like an extremely generic war movie

The boot camp part takes me right back to 18 years old every single time, i find the movie compelling and the message of duality really comes into play

It's a movie that is hard to put in words. I hate it but also loved it.
