- jackmeatJuly 9, 2025My quick rating - 6.4/10. This one is a true out-of-the-blue gem that I did not see coming at all. I was expecting a typical low-budget horror flick, and I surely got that. This one comes with a great cast of characters that are put into different situations for each group, all with similar intents. To get to a huge "Blevins" day party. And it is easy to tell that the makers of this flick are true fans of Troma in the montage of personalities they have in this one. Their Jack Black clone absolutely steals his scene. Anyway, all of these shenanigans are all fine and dandy. Strange kills done by who knows, every trope under the sun. But this is my theory about this movie. They made the entire movie, including all their inside jokes, to stretch the limits of taste as far as they could. But when they wrapped it up with your average 4.5 rated flick. This is when they went the extra mile. I believe they grabbed me and a group of buddies. Sat around and drank while watching it from beginning to end, quipping the whole time MSK style as those with enough wit can do, and then when all was said and done, the magic happened. They went back and took every stupid joke that was made while watching, every scene addition or alteration that whoever blurted out, and then they actually added all these extra pieces into the movie that weren't initially there. It is the only way to explain away such a set of inside jokes that are mixed with what you would surely say while watching. At times, I was seriously thinking (gee, wouldn't it be funny if), and then minutes later it actually happened. Just such a great comedy flick where the creators truly get the point of making fun of something in an everyday way. And I haven't even gotten to the strangely well-put-together story they pulled off. Yes, it was a dumb story, but done right. The gore is in that Troma comic style, the kills are often hilarious, and I was seriously so impressed with this one. If you are thinking about trying to watch and joke along with it, good luck. They will beat you to the punch and do/say it for you.
