- Jacob26 de fevereiro de 2026Ernest Goes to School is an improvement over Rides Again, but still falls under the Emshell Producers curse of being a low-budget, direct to video movie. It follows the same formula we've seen many times, where Ernest wants to have/keep a specific job and becomes infatuated with a new love interest. However, what makes each Ernest movie entertaining in their own right is the slapstick comedy and Jim Varney's lovable performance as Ernest. Anything extra, like Chuck and Bobby's appearances, Santa Claus, killer trolls or Eartha Kitt is a huge bonus. In my last review, I ragged on Rides Again for turning Ernest into a one-dimensional jerk, but Goes to School uses a plot device that intentionally turns him into one, which is ironically funny. 2.3/5.0
