George and Helen remember Uncle Amos as a very sedate and pious old gentleman. When he announces his intention of paying them a visit, they hastily hide all signs of worldliness and invite Deacon Jones to spend a week with them. The fact is that Uncle Amos has come to the city to have a good time and soon tires of the restrictions of the "model household" which George and his wife purport to maintain. When uncle is introduced to George's pretty stenographer, Flossie, he arranges to meet her in the evening. Uncle has the time of his life keeping his date, particularly as he is supposed to sleep with the deacon. The nest morning George and Helen receive a message, requesting that a suitcase be shipped to a certain couple who have eloped.
