- JohnAugust 23, 2025A good true story I’ve never heard of before brought to life by some stellar performances. Sweeney and De Amas are blossoming into some really great actresses. Story of a family just trying to make a fresh start under the harshest of circumstances and wanting to get along while everyone else is out for themselves and trying their best to drive everyone else away with dire consequences.

Why on earth this film has been lingering in release hell for so long and is so very difficult to find and watch is beyond me… because it truly is an excellent film.
- Luke EricksonOctober 30, 2025This was a good drama with great acting but it was a little all over the place. You should probably skip this and just watch another Ron Howard movie, Willow (1984). Sydney Sweeney giving birth while being robbed and attacked by dogs is wild. TL; DR - Guys if you're here for the boobs you will be disappointed. Check out the Plex AVOD, just look up Vampire or something and you'll probably get a sleezy hit. ;)
- Mars SwiodornOctober 13, 2025Gritty Drama, set in Galapagos beautiful scenery. Great plot based on true events, depicts the harsh reality of isolated off grid living in that time, and the human elements of all of the settlers, as they try to deal with one another. I enjoyed the directing choices of Howard. Strong acting performances from most, only felt De Armas character could have been a bit more subtle in her selfish conceitedness it could have drawn a lot from more layers and less bluntness. I thought Sydney Sweeney was excellent, and her role was cast perfectly. All in all, i liked this movie. i will rate this 7.7/10

- mrmist0October 29, 2025This is one of those movies that’s truly worth watching, the story is amazing and it’s based on real events. On top of that, the performances by Sydney, Vanessa, Ana, Jude, and Daniel are outstanding. Jude Law in particular is incredible; I’d even say he deserves an Oscar for this film.

The Galápagos setting is mesmerizing, and the cast captures the slow descent from hope to chaos perfectly. Its pacing can be uneven, and the tonal shifts hold it back a bit, but it’s still a haunting, beautifully shot film with real emotional weight. Rating: 7/10.
