- ZokkiieMay 22, 2026This movie feels less like a horror movie and more like a really slow theological drama that occasionally remembers it’s supposed to be an Exorcist prequel. It’s definitely trying to be smarter and more serious than the other version, but honestly it just ends up feeling kinda dull most of the time. There are a few interesting ideas buried in here, and Stellan Skarsgård does what he can with the material, but the pacing is rough and the scares barely exist. Weirdly enough, I still prefer the other version, even though that one’s pretty bad too. At least that movie was more entertaining in a messy trainwreck kind of way.
