- trrs10 maggio 2026Woah I’m suprise this movie was as good as it was. So much so I decided to lose sleep over it just to see it to the end. For a sequel they covered just about everything from the shinning and somehow made a very great movie. If your looking for a good conclusion to the shinning this one is fantastic highly recommend
- Deadncide22 dicembre 2024I was really surprised by how much I liked this. Part of me wanted something more towards the end, but I can not think of anything that would satsatisfy that feeling. I think thats a flaw on my part and others who may feel that way or more. Its not the fault of the filmakers. They did a wonderful job.on a REALLY tough thing to actually pull off. Its not hard to dig up old well known IP to and pump out more movies, but its usually done horribly. I believe this was done because the people making it wanted to make it, not just another cash grab "I REMEMBER THAT!!!!" junk whatsoever. Great job!

This film stands out as one of my favorite sequels and for me has earned its place among the top 10 horror classics. Flanagan’s ability to honor both interpretations while crafting a compelling narrative is truly impressive
- Pascal Bollier3 febbraio 2026if you told me that someone could make a sequel to a kubrik movie that actually works, i'd have laughed at you. so...color me impressed. this movie works. performances are really good, the story is....well, okay. the movie does not possess the atmosphere of "the shining" but it does not try to emulate it, instead it does its own thing. good one!
- Zokkiie17 gennaio 2026I mostly enjoyed Doctor Sleep. It’s a solid sequel with some genuinely creepy moments, a good story, and Ewan McGregor is great. When it’s doing its own thing, it really works. It would’ve been a 4 if it either fully did its own thing or just used the original Shining scenes. Recreating them shot-for-shot — especially Wendy’s scenes with a new actress — straight-up pissed me off. Shelley Duvall’s performance was a masterpiece, and recreating it like that felt disrespectful. You don’t do that to Shelley Duvall. Still good overall, just an unnecessary choice that held it back
