Prisoners in Siberia work on the railway and if anyone escapes he will be shot. A political prisoner, Jegorow, flees with his daughter Marfa, is betrayed by a Chinese man and taken to the governor. Marfa prays for his father's life, the governor's son, who loves Marfa comes into conflict with his father, Jegorow tries to take revenge by thinking the governor's train is on the wrong track, then discovers that Marfa is with the train, and in danger of her life he manages to save the passengers from doom.
