Devil Ratings & Reviews
- KGM SOSANovember 6, 2025An M. Night Shyamalan film, was great, Certainly a product of its time (early 2000s horror) but absolutely packed with suspense & mystery. I was pretty sure I knew the “who did it” angle since I think it was spoiled for me on reddit years ago, but honestly the answer still felt elusive. It’s a great mystery thriller that keeps you guessing & never drags. I debated giving it an 8 or 9 out of 10 so I went with 9 in good faith, though I’ve given 8s to movies I’ve liked way more so take my rating with a grain of salt. Still, the 6.3 IMDb average is criminally unfair; Horror & thriller movies always seem to get harsher treatment; As far as I can tell this is because it is more of an emotional experience that doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt of a “meh I’ll give it a 6/10” that people will give to a weak action or drama film. People either love it or hate it giving it a 1-3 or 7-10, While average action flicks get pity points. This one absolutely deserves better. The short 80-minute runtime actually works in its favour it’s tight, efficient & doesn’t overstay its welcome. Maybe could have done more however I give it a pass because I actually appreciated its short runtime, I respect that the director valued the audience’s time rather than stretching it to 2+ hours. The sound design & score are excellent too, perfectly matching the tension & mood of each scene. The cast was exceptional too acting-wise, it’s not iconic in a Pacino in Scarface or Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow sense, but the cast nails the emotional weight & realism of the situation. No one overacts, no one undersells, they strike that perfect balance. Overall: a suspenseful, well-paced mystery-thriller that proves less can be more.
- ርልዪረJune 24, 2025DEVIL - is a kind of film I have never seen before. It is a superb horror-thriller having a duration of just 80 minutes. But despite of having such a short duration, it is filled to the brim with tension and suspense till the end. The storyline is unique and flawless (as expected from M. Night Shyamalan), the cinematography and camerawork is excellent, the backgroung score is very haunting and the direction is also amazing. What surprises me the most are the acting performances from each and every actor. The actors are not well known but they have done absolute justice to their respective roles. There are some very tense and scary moments which takes the intensity to the next level. The plot takes twist and turn from time to time ending in a totally unexpected way. Overall, it is one hell of a thriller which should not be missed. 5/5

- Rusticus BeardicusSeptember 28, 2025Honestly not the worst movie and the old lady really reminds me of Charlie’s mom from It’s Always Sunny. It’s like that Archer episode where they get trapped in an elevator mixed with a murder mystery and a sprinkle of supernatural. I am glad that they specifically pinpointed who the Devil was and they didn’t try any “the devil was the elevator” or “the devil was inside us all along” nonsense.
