    A gut punch of a role for Nicole Kidman who, in spite of some facial prosthetics, goes all in on a character who is messy and complicated. Not a traditional “rooting for the underdog” protagonist, but a hard boiled cynic who’s trying to fix the damage she caused both in her career and with her daughter. It’s part character study and an undercover cop drama. Not to mention a transformative performance by Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) who is at the top of her game. For whatever it’s flaws are, this is one movie I cannot recommend highly enough.

    The movie dragged because it was too long and needed to be edited. It needed more action and suspense.
