- Manuel FrangisMarch 23, 2025I just watched Deadpool 2 again and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. This movie is just as wild, hilarious, and action packed as the first one but with even more chaos and somehow even more heart. It takes everything that made the first movie amazing and cranks it up to the next level. Ryan Reynolds kills it once again as Deadpool. He completely owns the role and brings the perfect mix of sarcasm, emotion, and nonstop jokes. His delivery is flawless and his chemistry with every single character is on point. He knows exactly how to balance the ridiculousness of Deadpool with just enough vulnerability to keep the character grounded. The action in Deadpool 2 is insane. There are huge fight scenes, over the top explosions, creative slow motion shots, and some of the most absurd stunts I have ever seen in a superhero movie. Every scene feels like a comic book come to life. It is stylish, violent, and fun without ever getting boring. The humor is nonstop. The jokes come at you fast and hard from start to finish. There are meta references, pop culture burns, self aware commentary, and completely outrageous gags that somehow still land. Some jokes are clever and others are just plain stupid but in the best way. The movie is not afraid to cross the line and that is part of what makes it so good. The supporting cast this time around is amazing. Josh Brolin as Cable is a great addition. He is tough, serious, and completely the opposite of Deadpool, which makes their scenes together hilarious and intense. His character brings real weight to the story and somehow fits right into the madness. Zazie Beetz as Domino is another standout. Her power of luck makes for some of the coolest action scenes and her laid back attitude is a great contrast to Deadpool’s chaos. She adds a ton of style to the movie and steals every scene she is in. You also get a bunch of returning characters from the first movie who are still awesome. Colossus is back trying to keep Deadpool in line and Negasonic Teenage Warhead is still delivering perfect deadpan one liners. Their dynamic with Deadpool brings a lot of laughs and keeps the team vibe strong. The movie also has more emotional moments than you might expect. There is real heart in this story even if it is surrounded by nonstop violence and jokes. Deadpool actually goes through some stuff that makes you care about him more. It never gets too serious but it adds enough depth to make it matter. The pacing is tight. There is never a dull moment and the story moves fast from scene to scene. You get action, jokes, new characters, and plot twists constantly and it all feels like it fits together perfectly. The reason I give it 5 out of 5 stars is because it delivers everything you could want from a Deadpool sequel. It is funnier, bigger, and has just enough of a story to keep things interesting. Ryan Reynolds is on fire and the movie never takes itself too seriously. Overall Deadpool 2 is one of the most fun superhero movies out there. It is wild, hilarious, and filled with characters you actually care about. If you liked the first one, this one is even better. I loved every second of it and I will definitely be rewatching it again soon.
- RyezooFebruary 14, 2025Pretty disappointed. So many of the same beats are hit again from the first movie. The intro, the regrowth process, the spike in the head, and the things that happen in the cab to name a few. Just didn’t feel as fresh this second go. They differently attempted more jokes this time, but a noticeable amount of them weren’t funny. They also try to be serious at times and it just doesn’t work within the framework of the movie. I loved the addition of Cable, thought his character was badass. The kid from Hunt for the Wilderpeople was good, but little annoyed that they pretty much copied that previous character 100% and just added a superhero power and the ability to say fuck. Also this is a plot that that I’ve seen countless times before. Ex.. T2, Looper. Also almost all the characters from the first film are pretty much on a victory lap. Given very little to do and it’s more like hey remember them? Here they are for thirty seconds. Lastly something, about this just feels cheap. Like the cgi action to Juggernaut. It just doesn’t feel like a normal blockbuster. I thought the cameos were great and really enjoyed the end credit scenes. Hopefully this franchise course corrects for the next one.
- mickerdooJune 30, 2025True to form sequel keeps the gore, dirty jokes and action coming. Still so happy with Reynolds. Brolin kicks ass. Good secondary cast.
- 匚卂尺ㄥJanuary 26, 2025Another Biggie from the Deadpool franchise hits hard! Goosebumping effects and stunts make it worth taking the day-off for. Amazing performance from the whole cast, everyone was just perfect in his/her space. Sense of humour was always perfect and r rated movies from marvel-20th century is unusual but it's like they have perfected that too. Every piece of the story was perfectly timelined and placed/explained. The conversations amongst wade and his wife could have been a little dramatic because it breaks the funny flow/vibe of the movie all along but the idea of saving the child for his own better future is beautiful. Even this is kind of satisfying and fairy-likewhn wade hits lows and meets his wif e for help like a pixie to a princess. Anyways, the movie does have some fairytale stuff unlike the first part but still is great.
