Damien: Omen II Ratings & Reviews
- MrTrivetFebruary 2, 2026In the second installment, the visual brutality of death is amped up, unfortunately at the expense of the suffocating atmosphere of the original. Quick, direct deaths are striking but rarely evoke emotion, likely because characters die one after another, making it difficult to form any emotional attachment. Still, there are moments that linger in memory, such as the death beneath the ice. The crow, a harbinger of death, prowls ominously, appearing almost constantly against the backdrop of heavy choral music. I particularly enjoyed the acting, especially Damien’s character, who comes across convincingly as a menacing heir of a wealthy household. In this unsettling yet deceptively harmless guise, he presents himself to those around him. Ultimately, something is missing - a by-the-numbers sequel - but despite this, the film is fairly watchable as a continuation and remains a solid pick for fans of satanic horror.
- ZokkiieDecember 23, 2025It’s not as intense as the first one, but still pretty solid. The kid playing Damien is creepy in a whole new way, and there are some decent scares. The plot's a bit slower, but it builds up to a pretty cool finale. If you liked the first, it's worth checking out, just don’t expect it to top the original.
- Rob MacKinnonOctober 18, 2025Not as compelling as the original, but entertaining throughout. Bonus points for having Lance Henriksen, even though he doesn’t get much to do.
