Cruel Summer is cruel, hard, unflinching, and chilling. It was hard to watch. The cruelty of people especially towards those different or disabled to look at them as less is constantly a source of shame for humanity. It was on full display in this film. It could be considered exploitation but even so… it hits a nerve of the mind set of those who bully for power. Whether politicians or others who hurt and demean others for their own gain or whatever the reason…it is easy to see this film actually happening.
