Crime 101 Ratings & Reviews
- Miyoni Portofino1 dag geledenThe movie was excellent!! Very good watch.
- Chris C18 februari 2026A stellar cast and nice acting help elevate what could have been a bog standard crime-thriller into a very solid movie. There are action scenes in the movie, but they're pretty small scale. Despite that, I couldn't help see parallels with the all-time-great "Heat", particularly between Hemsworth's and De Niro's characters—which is lofty company to be in. I appreciated that the ending provided closure without tying up all of the loose ends, while at the same time also feeling like it was not a setup for a sequel.
- Oʂɯαʅԃσ Rσყҽƚƚ20 februari 2026This is an all-star cast. All four are highly talented with great screen presence. It's great to see beast Halle Berry again. And Barry Keoghan plays such a wild and memorable character (more about his performance than depth in the writing)

- Amir Animashaun20 februari 2026Don’t know where to begin with this tbh. One of the worst endings I’ve seen imo it was so weird. I went in blind thinking Chris Hemsworth was a detective working with Mark Ruffalo and Halle Berry’s characters. I did not know he was a THIEF! The good of this movie is the cinematography it looks gorgeous especially the drone work. The action and chase scenes were tense and I cared for Mark Ruffalo and Halle Berry’s character. The rest of this movie is hot garbage. The acting is horrendous I’m sorry Barry Keoghan was a train wreck his Irish accent was shining through his horrible somewhat American accent. Chris Hemsworth’s American accent was so unconvincing damn this movie is a mess and has problems. This did not need to be 2hrs and 20mins it’s so dragged out especially some of the scenes. Yeah the more I talk about this movie the angrier I get 🤣

- fuse18716 maart 2026CRIME 101 is exactly the kind of "cat-and-mouse" thriller l've been craving. It doesn't rely on mindless explosions; instead, it treats the audience like adults, focusing on the high-stakes chess match between two professionals who are arguably the best at what they do. The tension is built through silence and precision rather than noise. I found myself strangely torn, shifting my loyalty between the hunter and the hunted as the lines between "good" and "bad" started to blur. Seeing these heavy hitters go head-to-head on screen felt like a throwback to classic 90s crime dramas, where the meticulous planning is just as exciting as the payoff. It's gritty, smart, and doesn't overstay its welcome. If you're into films where the characters are always three steps ahead of the police (and the audience), this is a must-watch.
- vangh13 maart 2026"Listen... I love the way they cheer for home. Nobody in LA does that." I feel like this one perfectly shoots the gap between complex and convoluted. You spend just the right amount of time wondering "Who is this and what are they up to?" before there's a well executed reveal. Pretty much everybody nails their performances. Mark Ruffalo is at the point in his career where you just know he's going to absolutely bring it, Barry Keoghan has 100% found his niche, and Monica Barbara has that breezy, seems effortless style here that just always works. It's probably fair to say it starts stronger than it ends, but it wraps up relatively well, not exactly in the way you'd expect, with a well earned conclusion for each of the characters. Apparently it plays as a Heat ripoff for a lot of people, and that movie remains one of the most glaring gaps in my watched list so maybe that benefited me.

I was also a big fan of American Animals, so seeing Bart Layton in the director's chair made me even more curious. On top of that, the cast is absolutely stacked, which made it feel like all the ingredients were there for something special. Thankfully, the film delivers on most of that promise. While I don't quite think it reaches the level of fantastic, it is still a very good and engaging crime thriller that kept me invested from start to finish. The story follows Davis (Chris Hemsworth), a high-end thief who makes his living by being patient and strategic. Like most criminals, though, his careful routine starts to slip. He begins a relationship with Maya (Monica Barbaro) and takes a risky step by inserting himself into the life of Sharon (Halle Berry), all while trying to quietly exit the game. Meanwhile, Detective Lou (Mark Ruffalo) starts to notice patterns in Davis' work and becomes determined to bring him down. With a few twists along the way and another robber entering the mix, played by Barry Keoghan, the narrative always had something interesting happening and never lost my attention. Visually, this is a sleek and sharp film that feels very polished. The cinematography is stylish, the direction is confident, and the overall tone fits the story perfectly. I liked the characters, their motivations, and where the story ultimately goes. My biggest issue, however, is the pacing. At two hours and twenty minutes, the film feels longer than it needs to be. There are several scenes that could have been tightened or trimmed, and I truly believe that cutting it down to just under two hours would have made it an even stronger film. It's never boring, but it definitely lingers in places where it didn't have to. The performances are a major highlight across the board, with the cast bringing a lot of weight to the material. The score is subtle but effective, rising at just the right moments, and Layton's direction keeps the tension steady throughout. The editing is solid for the most part, though it could have been sharper in certain stretches to help the pacing. Overall, Crime 101 is a slick, well-acted crime thriller that I had a great time watching. It's a very good movie that I'd easily recommend to fans of the genre, even if it runs a bit longer than necessary.
- Dkla77713 maart 2026Surprisingly good.
- Timeless Cinema23 februari 2026A crime thriller on the cusp of being so much more. Pacing is the main issue in the way of the film's stellar production, which also offers some slick looking cinematography.
- pah5535 dgn geledenAnchored by a truly stellar cast. Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Halle Berry, and Barry Keoghan deliver powerhouse performances, making every character feel grounded and believable. The film succeeds by putting character at the forefront; seeing these individuals at their own personal crossroads makes it impossible not to root for them. With a tight story and high stakes, it’s easily one of the better crime thrillers in recent memory. A must-watch!
- Disent7 dgn geledenAvengers: Breaking Bad! So Thors been acting a fool, robbing people cause his Asgardian inheritance is spent, its up to detective Hulk and his side kick, the Black Panther to stop him, but look out for the wild card, the mutant weather goddess Strom! seriously average crime flick
- N3tRunn3r23 maart 2026And here I was thinking that they stopped making them good films like this one. Nice, very nice. A lot of Mann vibes. Think Heat, Miami Vice. Very, very good
- iamstu221 maart 2026Great cast and equally great performances but the plot leaves something to be desired.
