Aspiring comedian Roni Beck is so unsuccessful that at 38, he secretly moves back in with his mother-in a retirement home. The home's director, Serge, discovers his secret and sentences him to work as a nursing assistant. However, Serge then takes an interest in Roni's ambitions and, using money from the retirement home's funds, secures him a prestigious performance opportunity.
