Decenni prima degli eventi principali, un microrganismo letale viene recuperato e confinato in una struttura militare sotterranea segreta dal governo degli Stati Uniti. A causa di un guasto tecnico nel sistema di raffreddamento della struttura di stoccaggio, la temperatura sale, permettendo al fungo di risvegliarsi e iniziare a diffondersi. Un ex agente governativo ormai in pensione (Liam Neeson), che conosceva i pericoli del virus, dovrà collaborare con due dipendenti di un deposito (interpretati da Joe Keery e Georgina Campbell) per contenere l'epidemia prima che il fungo raggiunga la superficie con effetti potenzialmente devastanti per l'intera umanità.

- acwarr216 h faProbably needed a few more beats. Seemed rushed, would have made a better tv show. Certainly has Syfy early 2000’s CGI. It was short and its cast wasted. Two characters just wondered off never to be seen again.

- sinrise16 febbraio 2026A bit of a return to an earlier time of filmmaking when characters had reasons to do the things they did and the story came before any message. This could have easily tried to be the next disaster movie blockbuster but instead it goes for a much smaller in scale but high in stakes story and it was legitimately fun to watch. This movie could have come out in the 80s and be almost entirely unchanged. It's gross but not gory and what gore there was had a reason to be there. This movie is proof that good writing still exists in Hollywood.

- SirMonkalot6 marzo 2026Loved the vibe of this, went from super serious to super silly. A fun B movie horror comedy! The cast was great, awesome choice of actors. It’s nothing that hasn’t been done before but I like the way they approached it. Joe Keery & Georgina Campbell have great chemistry and need to be in more movies together. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the shitty CG.
- Patrick Wai3 aprile 2026Joe Keery’s Teacake is the kind of character who makes you consider abandoning a movie before it has the decency to get started: not especially bright, far too chatty, painfully goofy, and seemingly engineered in a lab to make the dumbest possible decision at every turn. I went in expecting more action and quickly realized this isn’t really an action movie at all, even if it does cough up a few decent action scenes here and there. It’s closer to a weird B-movie cousin of The Naked Gun — not quite as silly, but still operating on a level where you have to accept a lot of nonsense and just move on. Liam Neeson, at least, does exactly what he’s there to do, playing the stern, retired ex-spy with enough conviction to make the rest of the movie seem almost respectable. The fungal apocalypse angle is a fun enough twist on the usual zombie/end-of-the-world formula, but the whole thing is so strange, thinly written, and underdeveloped that it feels like the kind of movie that would have gone straight to video in a less forgiving era. There’s some dumb fun to be had, but with better writing and more actual character development, this could have been a lot more than a mildly amusing pile of spores.

- staffm86 marzo 2026Is it an Oscar winner? No. Was it fun as heck? Absolutely! It was over the top in parts but I went in expecting that so it was a good watch!
- Doc Worm29 marzo 20262009 straight to DVD vibes. Wanted to like this one because it seems like a fun enough concept and has a solid leading cast. Unfortunately, their talents are wasted here. Mostly down to poor direction it seems. Script seems punchy enough but the delivery is not great. Editing, pacing and inconsistent CGI do a lot to hold it back as well. There’s some scenes that are independently very cool. Solid opening, and there’s a scene showing how the infection spreads. Wildly inconsistent overall.
