Coherence Ratings & Reviews
- synthete20 April 2026A mix of "Whose Line Is It Anyway" as a way to perform a Twilight Zone episode. It's an interesting concept, performed fairly well, and seems opaque and complex until the film stops to make sure it tries its best so everyone in the back understands all the salient concepts and implications. I've read people say that it takes multiple viewings to understand it, but everything is explicable and traceable once the entirety of the concept's mechanics are unveiled, as long as one is able to retroactively piece things together. This could have made for a hell of a Star Trek TNG or Voyager episode that would have gained a lot by concerning characters everyone was familiar with and had developed an attachment to. The closest thing I remember off the top of my head was a ST:DS9 episode that dealt with similar concepts and stakes. But the only thing I felt was a problem in this film is that there isn't any doubt who the main character is by the last third, and I don't feel the actions taken in the end actually make sense for that character, so it ends up feeling forced just to have a dramatic and "shocking" early-2000s style ending. Decent and fairly unique performance-wise. No plan to ever re-watch.
- ayayron16 February 2025Trivia: Instead of scripts, the actors would each receive only a small paragraph (that only they would see) as their 'goals' for the day. This allowed for the story to unfold naturally and create genuine reactions in the other actors.
- Iqbal Subadi8 December 2024Coherence is a brilliant example of minimalist filmmaking that punches well above its weight. Its intricate plot and compelling characters make it a must-watch for fans of psychological thrillers and thought-provoking sci-fi. While it may leave you with more questions than answers, that’s precisely what makes it unforgettable. Some viewers might find the film’s lack of direct explanations frustrating. The intentionally ambiguous ending leaves many questions unanswered, which might not sit well with audiences who prefer more closure.
- cdt7713 April 2026Awesome movie
- Niztradamus6 April 2026This was great. Taking an idea from quantum phisics and warping it a bit to fit the narrative was just becoming popular around the time Coherence released. But this one sticks quite a bit closer than most. Even to the point of characters trying to explain some concepts wrong but the movie corrects them in their assumtions and presets what it actually be like. I really did enjoy this one.
- aitchi37 March 2026It's so bad I can't review it
- Brandon J Hicks18 February 2026Unwatchable. The constant shaking and zooming of the camera which was obviously added in post makes me nauseous and the way the audio was recorded is way overstimulating. I really tried but had to turn it off half way through.
- Chris Rattray27 January 2026Probs the best Coherence that ever cohered here tbh ngl
- Nicholas Florio23 January 2026What a great movie, and I only had to watch it 3 times to completely understand it. Lol. I love films that experiment with time narratives or temporal anomalies but these ideas are sometimes hard to grasp the first time... for me.
- N21 January 2026Great movie. I love weird/different concepts and this for sure ticked the boxes for me. Great acting, natural and helped create a sense of being with the group/s as the moments ticked through.
- Nino Zlatev28 July 2025This movie had great potential and a very abrupt and bad ending. It just feels like it got cut off at the best part. Still - it was quite enjoyable up until the end.
- rlyshw18 January 2026Best dinner party ever
- wolsk017 January 2026Yea a twisty one
- cherrygrove.11 January 2026This movie was legitimately amazing. For it being so low budget, they pulled off an incredible feat here. Shot in the directors own house. Top notch cosmic “horror” type stuff. Mind bending. A++. Watch this.
- Colinthegreat6 January 2026This movie is a hidden gem. It keeps you guessing on whats going to happen next,
