Would not recommend. It got a few laughs but only because it was ridiculous. I was hoping the shark would of gotten all of them.

When I stumbled upon the 2026 movie titled "Chum", I needed no persuasion to watch it. I have always enjoyed shark-themed movies, despite the fact that the vast majority of them are questionable movies. I found this movie's cover to be rather interesting, and since I hadn't already seen the movie, of course I gave it a fair chance. Dick Grunert, Ryan R. Johnson, James Kondelik, Joe Leone and Jonathan Zuck wrote a script that proved entertaining. Sure, it wasn't the most layered or profound narratives, and it was in itself rather simplistic, but it worked out well enough, as the movie proved to be enjoyable. Let's face it, shark movies are watches for the shark attack scenes for the most parts, with the narrative being a runner up thing. I happened to be adequately entertained by the narrative. I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list. Not that it was a bad thing, not at all. I do, actually, enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances in "Chum" were good. Visually, well "Chum" was quite good. I liked the special effects in the movie, especially the shark attack scenes. They were quite nicely made and seemed rather real, and added a very good layer to the movie, one that many other shark movies tend to lack. The fact that they had the shark snarling and growling was just so epically stupid. Sharks are silent killers, it is part of what makes them so terrifying. And a snarling shark? No, that is just stupid. It makes it feel like a comic relief. So thumbs down for that decision. If you enjoy shark-themed movies, then "Chum" is actually one of the more entertaining and enjoyable of shark-themed movies in a long time.
