Christy Ratings e Recensioni
- Brian Zalewski10 dicembre 2025Really solid flick I had heard of Christy as a fighter but I had zero idea about the abuse she endured & the attempted murder. Sydney Sweeney slayed this role and Ben Foster is also a brilliant actor who really morphs into every role he takes on. I highly recommend this movie.
- dnochris10 dicembre 2025I found Christy quite a good watch overall, especially because the story constantly had me rooting for her to leave Jim right from the start. The film really captures how trapped she was, both mentally and physically, and that emotional weight carries the whole story. Jeff ended up being my favourite character — he had a good heart and brought some balance to the chaos around Christy. Even so, there were moments where I felt he could have stepped in more or pushed harder to help her, which made his role feel a bit frustrating at times. One scene that really stuck with me was when Christy bobbed her tongue out at the other fighter. It was such a small moment but full of attitude, confidence, and personality — and it summed up the spirit she was fighting to reclaim. The only real downside for me was the slow pacing halfway through. The emotional build-up is strong, but it drags in spots and could have kept the tension higher. Overall, the tone of the film is emotional, showing not just a boxing journey but the personal struggle of a woman navigating a male-dominated sport while dealing with abuse at home. It’s powerful without feeling forced. I would definitely recommend Christy. It’s inspiring to see how she broke into a sport dominated by men and helped change it for the better, all while battling the pain and control of an abusive husband. It’s a story of strength, heart, and resilience — worth watching
- Shawn Luginbuhl4 gg faSydney fucking Sweeny?!?!?!! This movie is GOOD. So so so good.
- moviefreak6327 marzo 2026This movie was more about pushing a woke agenda about homosexuality in particular about her lesbianism and ultimately about domestic violence instead of her career which was just an add onto the story I usually like sports bio pics but this one was disappointing but it shows you were Hollywood are sadly though I have no problem with a person's sexual preferences I don't need to be lectured about it as for the domestic violence it's never OK either way men are also victims of domestic violence but you never hear about it I wonder why. I don't recommend this movie at all a poorly made movie for a woman who was obviously a great sporting champion focusing in on her sexuality garbage!.
- ragin6916 dicembre 2025What a good movie
- j22518 marzo 2026Possibly Sydney Sweeney's best performance, also very intense and heartbreaking.
- NewFilmsAnonymous26 febbraio 2026Never forget Ben Foster had to become a fat, slobbering leaf chewer in order to looksmatch with Sweeney
- Mr. D9 febbraio 2026I didn't expect that. I heard of Christy way back, but i had no idea of this story of achievement and tragedy. It was amazing. The performances are deserving of awards, displaying an emotional roller-coaster. I Never heard of Sydney Sweeney before but i sure as hell will never forget her.
- Hakihiko14 gennaio 2026Heartfelt and Engaging With a Few Missed Beats "Christy" is a warm, character-driven film that succeeds largely on charm and sincerity. It may not aim for grand thematic heights or narrative complexity, but it knows what kind of story it wants to tell - and it does that well enough to make the experience consistently enjoyable. The heart of the movie lies in its central performance, which feels grounded and genuine, giving the emotional moments real weight without ever spilling into melodrama. The supporting cast adds to this strength, offering performances that are believable and complementary, helping the story feel cohesive and grounded. Visually, "Christy" is pleasing and unobtrusive - nothing showy, but polished and effective in service of the narrative. The direction keeps the focus on character development and emotional resonance, allowing quieter scenes to breathe and carry their own meaning. The soundtrack supports the tone with a gentle confidence, enhancing key moments without ever overwhelming them. Where the film falters slightly is in pacing and plot originality. Some beats feel familiar, and the story occasionally leans on predictable turns rather than fully surprising or challenging the audience. A couple of moments could have benefitted from deeper exploration or sharper focus, which might have elevated the impact. Even so, "Christy" remains consistently engaging. It's a film that doesn't overreach but still manages to connect, offering a warm, heartfelt experience that's easy to appreciate.
- Gordon Hood2 febbraio 2026How do you rate something like this? It's a tragedy. Terrible things happen to this woman. It's a well-played well-acted out tragedy.
- denvan54 gennaio 2026One of the best movies I've ever watched
- Ajay25 gennaio 2026This was my first foray into learning about Christy Martin, and it blew me away. I've heard that it matches up pretty well to Christy's actual life, and such this biopic really brought forth the big guns. The time period shows so many social norms and accepted behaviours that Christy broke, and how it made her shine like a star. But the real star of the show is Sweeney's fantastic performance in showcasing the subtle emotions and thought processes that went through Christy's mind as she was coerced into situations - not by sheer force, but through corrupted manipulation. Foster as Jim Martin made for an incredible villain, and the rest of the cast did an excellent job highlighting the various hurdles Christy navigated.
- Mr_David19 gennaio 2026Main actress was good but the scenario felt repetitive, the movie itself is in no way moving or inspiring, felt a bit long… kinda dark and negative throughout.
- adam319920 dicembre 2025It seemed at a time the whole world hated her, but her film here is amazing. 5/5 go girl
- walte24828 dicembre 2025One of the movies of all time
