A True story, the movie deals with a young teen from a dysfunctional family where Dad and a sibling have left the home and mother has taken up with a new man. Christiane ends up seeking solace in a group of teens who are all heroin addicts and eventually sinks into that lifestyle and all the horrors of it. We witness her degrade morally, physically and spiritually as the addiction takes root and consumes her and her friends. The mother and father have a lot to answer for in my opinion and this film should be a warning to those parents who take a helicopter view of parenting young teens who are not developed enough to fully understand the consequences of their actions. As a recovered addict (alcohol) myself this movie is 'Nil By Mouth' levels of realism and some may find that hard to watch but I believe it's important to show the truth of addiction and the different circles of hell, addiction drags you too and many many people never make it out! I and Christians are the lucky few and we've both lost a lot of friends who never made it. God bless them and rest their souls. I hope Christiane had a great life after this and that her boyfriend managed to get out.
