Dónde ver Corredor hacia China
- Mister Arn6 de octubre de 2026“China Gate” is a 1950s anti-Communist war movie set in Vietnam. The story has some potential, particularly in its treatment of prejudice and a father’s chance to redeem himself by accepting his own son. But the script and performances make it drag. Too many scenes consist of people standing around talking, with dialogue and behavior that don’t feel convincing. Angie Dickinson plays a woman of mixed European and Asian ancestry, but the casting makes that part of the story difficult to believe. Her character wants to get her son to America and seems able to sweet-talk or outmaneuver just about anyone standing in her way. The men act tough, but she can manipulate them whenever the plot requires it. She’s a femme fatale working for the good guys, and the film pushes that idea to ridiculous extremes. The result is over-the-top drama with scenes that are almost painful to watch. I made it all the way through, but it wasn’t enjoyable. The black-and-white CinemaScope photography offers some visual interest, though I’m not sure the wide format adds much to the movie.
