- Matthias_812July 13, 2025Nothing better than some holiday spooky vibes and bonus points if it takes place during Halloween. Cemetery of Terror just barely made the cut. Literally the entire first half is aimless exposition making this a real slog. Things eventually heat up and get pretty crazy for the remainder. An undead serial killer revives zombies and all hell breaks loose. There are a lot of similarities to Halloween here. Plays out partly slasher on some dumb teens before shifting into a zombie piece on some younger kids making it sort of coming of age. Tonally it's pretty loose but there are some Fulci Zombie Flesh Eater vibes as the zombie action sequences are spectacular.
- Kevin WardJuly 6, 2025Decent little supernatural slasher to go along with spooky season. In a way this felt like two different movies. First half follows a serial killer raised from the dead that stalks group of partiers in an abandoned house. The second half follows a group of young kids venturing through a cemetery that get chased by the dead emerging from their graves. It’s kind of like the Spanish mashup of Halloween and Night of the Living Dead. On the downside, the setup takes way too long. I think it was about 45 minutes before any of the partiers are killed at the abandoned house. There was a long setup involving a supposed jet set party, (whatever that is) to coax these women to the house. Also, the professor was worried that this killer was a demon raised from the dead and he was determined that if he was not cremated it would happen again. BUT, does that mean he would have resurrected whether or not the kids stole his body and did the ritual? Or was that just a massive coincidence? Anyways, there are a number of elements I just had to kind of go with. The last 20 minutes are pretty fun when it goes full undead and the final freeze frame is just absolute perfection.
