Hunter’s magnetism pushes it over the top. Along with interesting character dynamics and stressful atmosphere. Threw a curveball at the end.

Uh, Aaron is an insufferable tool right? Not sympathetic, I didn't even realize he was supposed to be in the running as part of a love triangle until later on, and it was bemusing. Like when he and Jane were introduced as friends in the beginning of the movie and there was some mild sexual tension that neither of them acted on, and there was no reason for them not to act on it other than one or more of them just isn't that into the other, I just assumed their relationship was solidly in the friendzone. He just came across like a total immature idiot freaking out about Jane going after Tom. Jane and Tom like each other. She I guess resists the attraction because he's dumb (but doesn't actually seem dumb) and I guess doesn't fit her mold of ideal journalism. But she's pretty quick to forget about that til the end. And yet they still somehow work out stupid ways of stepping on their own toes and never getting off the ground as a couple. The barriers in this romance felt quite forced. It is fairly watchable though.
