Bob Marley: One Love Ratings & Reviews
- Kevin WardJuly 2, 2025Excellent performances from Kingsley Ben-Adir and Lashana Lynch and Bob and Rita Marley can only take the movie so far. It’s a film that only seems interested in playing the hits without providing much of any context around the pivotal events in Marley’s life. The shootings, the civil war, his estranged father, or his multitude of children not named Ziggy. The nonlinear storytelling, jumping forward and backward in time, felt like an admission that there just wasn’t enough of a through-line to warrant the biopic treatment. There really should be though, if they hadn’t decided to completely gloss over the heavy stuff. As a fan of his music, I was glad they featured so much of it. I definitely had his tunes running through my head the entire drive home. It’s serviceable, but I can’t really go so far as to recommend it. And I think I came away with more questions than answers about music legend.
- RyezooFebruary 4, 2025Solid acting can’t lift this above just being okay. It kinda coasts through random parts of his life and feels like I’m getting a cliff notes version of this real life legend. It made me want to learn more about Bob Marley and atleast the music was really good when played. Better than Boheim Rhapsody atleast.
- rahssan44January 18, 2025Honestly this was a very good documentary on the life of Bob Marley. The audiences loved it and the critics gave it a hard time. The performances were genuine and the acting was on point. Seeing footage from Jamaica during the movie and seeing Mutaburuka did give a more authentic feel to the movie.

- 匚卂尺ㄥFebruary 1, 2025☮This film is a fantastic tribute to a great artist, and the tribulations he went through to make the fabulous 'Exodus'. The acting is first class.
- Eric BakkeOctober 11, 2024Exceeded my expectations in most areas, yet it ultimately feels like the legendary artist deserves a more dynamic biopic. While it offers engaging moments that reflect its sociocultural backdrop, the film often struggles to maintain momentum, leaving it feeling flat and lackluster.
