It's also atypical in that it shies away from the standard sanctimonious racial lessons Hollywood loves to assault us with. She needed someone to value her, and she found it. He needed an outlet for his love after an ugly divorce, and he got it. I like that it's sweet and honest. No frills. Not too much dialogue, but not too little. The filmmakers also don't indulge in tragedy or retribution, which given the material, I'm sure took restraint. The performances were excellent. Good film.
