- Manuel Frangis16 novembre 2025I just watched Big Fat Liar again and I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. It is a lighthearted and nostalgic comedy that delivers a fun mix of silly humor, lively energy, and memorable moments. While it is not the most complex or deep movie, it offers a feel good experience that is easy to enjoy especially if you grew up with it. The movie keeps things simple but entertaining, and that is exactly what makes it work. The story follows Jason Shepherd, a kid with a talent for telling lies, who ends up having his school essay stolen by a powerful Hollywood producer named Marty Wolf. When no one believes Jason his frustration pushes him to take action. He and his friend Kaylee travel to Los Angeles to confront Wolf and make him admit the truth. This setup creates a fun cat and mouse style adventure filled with pranks, chaotic situations, and colorful characters. It all works because the movie never tries to be overly serious. Instead it focuses on having fun with its story and letting the characters play off each other. One of the best things about Big Fat Liar is how energetic the humor is. The pranks are over the top in the best way and the movie leans fully into its playful style. From blue dye mishaps to outrageous setups inside Marty Wolf’s studio, every big moment feels exaggerated but hilarious. The movie is filled with jokes that still land today because they come from the characters’ personalities and not just random gags. It keeps the movie lively from start to finish. Frankie Muniz gives Jason a lot of charm. He brings the right mix of mischievous and likable making Jason fun to root for even when he causes trouble. Amanda Bynes adds a lot of fun energy as Kaylee. She brings confidence imagination and a strong sense of friendship that helps balance Jason’s chaos. Their teamwork is one of the best parts of the movie and they make the story feel bigger because of how well they play off each other. Paul Giamatti is easily the highlight of the film as Marty Wolf. He throws himself completely into the role making the villain both ridiculous and unforgettable. His exaggerated reactions, huge personality, and constant meltdowns add so much comedy to the movie. Every scene he is in becomes funnier because of how committed he is to the character. He gives the movie a unique identity that helps it stand out among other early 2000s family comedies. The pacing of the movie is quick and easy to follow. It never slows down for too long and it always pushes the story toward the next funny situation. This keeps the movie entertaining even during the smaller moments. There are also some nice messages about honesty responsibility and standing up for yourself. They are simple but effective especially for a family movie. While Big Fat Liar is a lot of fun it does have a few limitations. The story is predictable and follows a straightforward formula. Some of the humor is very silly which might not work for everyone. But these things do not hurt the movie much because the tone is meant to be playful and not overly serious. Overall Big Fat Liar is a fun and joyful movie that still holds up as an entertaining watch. It has great comedic moments memorable characters and a lively spirit that makes it easy to enjoy. I had a great time watching it again and it is definitely a movie I would rewatch whenever I want something funny simple and nostalgic.
- ርልዪረ1 février 2025the movie was a lot of fun ... they brought a cool color to Marty and made me laugh.Once you say the truth and they don't believe you... just a good game by Frankie Munitz, Amanda Bynes also did an amazing job .I even liked the role of the villain in this movie. The acting was great. It can entertain people of all ages :))) And most importantly - the lesson that is implied.
