- ርልዪረ7 febbraio 2025Eddie Murphy's finest hour, and one of the great 80's films, that surprisingly stands the test of time, unlike Murphy's other early big hitters such as Trading Places and 48 Hours. It's full of loud eighties music, and shoulder pads, but Martin Brest keeps the film moving along at a brisk pace, and the action sequences are excellently filmed, and quite brutal. However, Beverley Hills Cop magic lies in the razor sharp script with Murphy having a field day with the Axel Foley character.. Judge Reinhold, John Ashton & Ronny Cox provide great back up to Murphy as the bewildered California cops. Steven Berkoff, as always solid in the bad guy role. Never gets old this one.
- Zokkiie5 maggio 2026Really easy to get into, it just clicks right away. Doesn’t waste time trying to be anything more than a fun mix of action and comedy, and it handles that really well. Eddie Murphy is the reason it works as well as it does. He’s got that effortless charm and makes even the simplest scenes feel entertaining. Yeah it’s a bit old in places, but it still holds up without much effort. Just a solid, fun watch that doesn’t need to do too much to be good.
- tellum3 agosto 2025In hindsight this is a very basic buddy cop movie, but it established a lot of cherished action comedy tropes. Some things hold up, like convincing cops to break the rules for the greater good of catching the bad guys. Other things don’t hold up, like sticking bananas in a tail pipe. How much you like Eddie Murphy will decide whether you should watch or not.
