Beau Is Afraid Ratings & Reviews
- Oʂɯαʅԃσ RσყҽƚƚDecember 25, 2025Beau is Afraid demands us to see it again. It basically screams to be rewatched, paused, rewound, dissected, and examined. The brilliance of writer and director Ari Aster is that these repeat viewings will never ever help you get this movie. It's never going to click and magically make sense - going back to the well will only deepen your appreciation for the craft of the film.
- makdelartNovember 25, 2025Ari Aster must have truly traumatic feelings about his mother.
- brian6583April 7, 2025I think Beau is right to be afraid. This was like a 3 hour panic attack.
- ebd321May 20, 2025This is a prolonged nightmare, in the literal sense. It never drags which is impressive for such a lengthy film. There are many creatively artistic scenes throughout. I am glad I saw it and I never want to watch it again. :-)
- Autumn-Brooke ThompsonNovember 20, 2025Keeps you entertained and motivated to keep on the journey of whatever you decide at the moment is going on with this movie. Right away takes you in and you must watch all the way threw because you are unraveling the story as you watch and then are lost again then realizes things then are lost again then mind blown then confused or unsure what’s true or real then boom magic. Definitely interesting.
- HoraceGoodspeedJanuary 4, 2025Complete mind trip of a movie
- mood653July 24, 2025I didn’t understand a thing—absolutely zero—yet I couldn’t stop watching. I love movies like this that keep you hooked for no apparent reason.
- Wanna swap library access?September 14, 2025Sucks to be Beau for sure.
- cultfilmlikerJuly 30, 2025*me, last year, ignorant* ⭐️⭐️ *me, this year, enlightened* ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (It’s still too long) Yeah the dude on the cruise is insanely creepy. Great acting! Great cast! Love the young actress essentially playing Parker Posey in Dazed & Confused! Someone needs to ask Ari what happened in his attic when he was a kid
- SamNovember 18, 2025nice house and I think I would have liked it more if I could connect to the specific religious trauma ari aster has
- Kevin WardJuly 3, 2025Beau is afraid….and then he grows a pair. Honestly this movie is exhausting. A mommy issues fever dream with a Herculean runtime that will likely satisfy Ari Aster fans and simultaneously repulse his detractors. I find myself mostly in the middle, admiring almost every ounce of craft on display and simultaneously never wanting to watch this again. The Free t-shirt was pretty cool though. And Birthday Boy Stab Man….you will always be famous.
- Allie TranMay 30, 2025I appreciate how creative and visually stunning this film was. But, I can’t lie and say I wasn’t bored out of my mind during long portions of this film.
- rajmopolitanAugust 31, 2025My least favorite of Ari Aster’s films.
- mickerdooAugust 25, 2025Extremely unique. Just not in a way that resonates with me. Unsettling, disturbing and confusing. Fever dream. Like a visual trip.
- tellumAugust 18, 2025This is a 3 act story, and I honestly couldn’t make it past the second act. I don’t want to say this is bad especially since I didn’t finish it, but this movie is extremely surreal and absurdist, so if you really like that and don’t need conventional story telling then you will enjoy this more than I did.
