Battle Royale Ratings & Reviews
- Daniel GustavssonOctober 11, 2024Great movie, with a great feel throughout.
- Halim MellickAugust 5, 2025Absolute masterpiece. I can really see where the likes of Squid Game, The Hunger Games, Kill Bill and even games like PubG and Fortnight got their inspiration. This movie influenced culture more than we realise and I consider it a must watch for any fans of the above mentioned. Obviously influenced by Japan's history, they have been making dystopias long before us
- jonathanmochrieMarch 25, 2026Fantastic from beginning to end.
- mickerdooMarch 9, 2026Dripping with angst, star-crossed crushes and Kill Bill esque fatalities. This movie is ridiculous to the max and an immediate cult classic.
- ZokkiieApril 10, 2026Put this on late at night thinking I’d half-watch it and ended up glued to the screen. It’s scrappy, a bit unhinged, and somehow pulls off being both grim and strangely heartfelt at the same time. You can feel the rough edges, but they give it personality instead of dragging it down. It swings big, sometimes misses, but when it hits, it really lands. Not something I’d throw on casually again, but I’m glad I watched it.
- JakeysMarch 28, 2026I've been a BR game genre fan since Survivor GameZ, but I'd never gotten around to watching the movie that inspired them. The movie met my lofty expectations, it was captivating throughout, though aspects of the ending were a little confusing. Maybe just down to subtitles? In any event, it was really good and it has proven itself to be an inspiration for other filmmakers.
- OtisMarch 26, 2026Bloody watch but was amazing from beginning to end.
- Steven SchwalgerMarch 9, 2026Fantastic! This was just pure joyful violence. How did The hunger games f@*k this concept up so badly. Suzanne Collins should be put into a Battle Royale I think.
- cultfilmlikerJuly 15, 2025“Arigato…” LEAVE YOUR CRITICISMS AT THE DOOR IDC. The flaws add character Watched the special edition for the first time in 4K. It ruled
- FridoFebruary 12, 2025Excellent movie
- Mr. DFebruary 19, 2026Came across this after rewatching Kill Bill. It popped up as a movie with Gogo(Chiaki Kuriyama) so I hit enter. 2+ hours with subs and I loved it. They are lucky I wasn't on that island or it would have been over in 10 minutes. I am a Bad Ass that should not be f♡ck€d with.
- Tyler SJanuary 29, 2025👍👍 8.5/10
- Omer NaorFebruary 14, 2026Expected to love it but at the end it was okay. Tried to watch it and remember to put a ‘it’s 26 years old Japanese movie’ eyeglasses with all the over the top acting, the constant misfiring and for the love of god, how many last words can I hear in one movie?
- makdelartDecember 4, 2025I appreciate the original plot idea.
- j.pete6September 16, 2025The kids overact the ever loving shit out of their role, except for that Kawada guy. BUT WHO CARES?? This movie is a fun ride man!
