Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ratings & Reviews
- bogometerMay 23, 2025It is long but still one of the greatest stories to come out of the DCU. Love the battle scenes.
- ZokkiieMarch 15, 2026Just watched the Ultimate Edition for the first time, and it really helps the movie breathe. The added scenes give things more context and make the whole story flow better. That said, Jesse Eisenberg as Luthor is catastrophically bad — almost painful to watch. He completely kills any sense of menace. The rest of the cast does fine, and the visuals are impressive. Still rough around the edges, but this version makes it more enjoyable.
- Scott SmithApril 12, 2025This movie got a lot of hate and negative reviews, but I really enjoyed it. It set up the excellent Snyder Cut of the Justice League, and it introduced Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. The fight scenes between Batman and Superman, as well as the ending with Doomsday are top notch. I will always love this film.
- Timeless CinemaMarch 10, 2026The presentation is great, and there's even a great Batman fight scene. The weakness is the story, which doesn't offer much for your mind to chew on.
- AaronFebruary 15, 2026Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Ultimate/Extended Cut) 🦇🔥 This movie isn’t a superhero film — it’s a three-hour mood swing. The “Ultimate Cut” is basically the studio saying, “Maybe if it’s longer, people will think it’s deeper.” It’s not deeper. It’s just longer sadness in slow motion. Batman brands criminals like a medieval landlord, Superman looks miserable saving people, and Lex Luthor acts like a riddle generator that broke. And the big legendary clash? Years of hype… Ends because of a shared mum name. Imagine training your whole life, building weapons, planning revenge — then going, “Oh wait, your mum’s Martha too? My bad bro.” That’s not a resolution. That’s emotional whiplash. Brutal Verdict: Visuals = god-tier ✔️ Tone = funeral-tier ✔️ Logic = missing in action ❌ It’s less Dawn of Justice and more Dawn of Everyone Needing Therapy. 😄
- ColeJuly 30, 2025Yes, the Martha scene is actually really good…
- ricomckeeAugust 17, 2025Great comic book fun pitting two hero’s against each other… The movie is fun and has dynamic action sequences and introduces Wonder Woman to the DCU! It is a winner winner…except- worst casting ever for Lex Luther. really! Needed more Wonder Woman time and Ben Affleck could really try giving an authentic performance and not phoning it in. But it is rewatchable and that is key for a successful movie in my opinion.
- RobjovsDecember 20, 2025Such an amazing movie. One of the best Superman movie made. Batfleck is amazing, gritty, in pain, angry. Emotional.
- M08YOctober 23, 2025Studio mismanagement was the real villain in this movie. The first two thirds of BvS is genuinely great (The directors cut of course). The conspiracy to set Batman and Superman against each other was handled really carefully and patiently. The more attention you pay, the more you see and I love that. The theatrical version of BvS cuts down massively on the setup which results in a disaster. Cutting down the best part of your movie is not a recipe for success. Another recipe for failure is to try and do 5 movies in 1. Trying to rush to Justice League truly was DCs undoing. The casting was also great, I even liked Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. Regrettably the film completely devolves in the third act. We go from a smart and patient building of conflict to an overblown CGI nightmare via baffling character decisions and even worse creative decisions. Trust me on this one - the ending is horrible. Honestly, you can have any opinion on this film and it's probably justified. I choose to love all the build up and just ignore the nightmarish finale. The audio and visuals are overall incredible. The IMAX scenes look phenominal but the dusty/sandy scenes at the start of the film have WAY too much grain, it's distracting. The audio is solid all the way through.
- matthie444July 5, 2025Daughter and I enjoyed watching the movie together.
- KizOctober 8, 2025This is a pretty bad movie. Weak plot, spends way too much time establishing context and not enough time showing cool superhero stuff. I remember how hyped up this was, but the pay off is a slow lackluster fight between the two of them where they kiss and makeup, suddenly become besties, and fight a monster together. The best thing about this movie is Ben Affleck doing a fantastic job at Bruce Wayne. It's a shame we never got to see him shine in his own movie. Snyder just wanted to speedrun his justice league story and never gave us a chance to fall in love with the characters, giving us a messy and pointless movie that ultimately did nothing for the franchise.
- tellumMay 29, 2025“Take a bucket of piss and call it Grandmas Sweet Tea.” That is an actual quote from this movie, and perfectly describes how fanboys rationalize liking it.
- Nathan MagretaJuly 22, 2025This movie is meant to make money and only money. They Saw how good Jesse Eisenberg was an Mark Zuckerberg and just added him to DC, and had a miscasted batman. However, it does have some great action, great plot, (Just didn't execute it well), and a great Henry cavil
- Kugen1942August 10, 2025A low point in Zack Snyder’s DC Universe which could have been an amazing platform to blitz through the Justice League ARC.But the stakes was too low and the moment in the title of the movie just fell flat
- Spencer MBJuly 30, 2025Borderline unwatchable at times and awkwardly paced.
