The premise is really simple. The space copies memories. That’s literally it. Think of the space like an inter-dimensional being. A creature that exists outside our universe. It stumbles upon our reality. Our 3D space. It can’t understand it, but it wants to. So it learns by connecting to people. Copying their memories, and then using their memories to create the space.
This creature, that is the space itself, wants to experience our reality by creating it from the memories that it takes from people. It creates their homes. Their family. Their friends. Their kitchens. Their apartment blocks. Their neighborhoods. But it doesn’t really understand them. So it puts everything into an office warehouse.
Then the protagonists can have their internal battles with their pasts using the memories created within this space. The little girl whose mother hid them in a home scheduled to be demolished. The man who couldn’t get over his ex. The pirate he had to play in his commercial killing him as an analogy for the death of his career.
This movie was well written. 10/10
