- cultfilmlikerJuly 22, 2025Guess I’ve already seen this one too?? Do not remember it at all??? And it was during my sobriety?? What was going on last October!? A lot better than I expected! Not a lot of notes! Pretty good at almost everything!
- Kevin WardJuly 1, 2025Babes, starring Ilana Glazer and Michelle Buteau, offers a mix of hilarity and heartfelt moments, but it’s a film that leans heavily on whether or not you already enjoy Glazer's distinct brand of comedy. Fans of her sharp, sometimes chaotic humor will likely find plenty to love, as the comedic chemistry between Glazer and Buteau is undeniable. They bounce off each other with perfect timing, delivering moments that are laugh-out-loud funny, especially in scenes where the absurdity of parenting collides with the pressure of trying to maintain a semblance of an adult life. The film touches on themes of pregnancy, motherhood, and the trials of raising kids with a fair bit of heart, but if Glazer’s comedy has never worked for you, this one might be a tougher sell. My wife and I enjoyed it for the most part even if not all of the humor landed.
- RyezooFebruary 4, 2025The first act is the best part of this movie. It had me laughing a bunch. The movie mellows out though and turns into a pretty standard film by the end. Ilana Glazer was great and makes me want to go watch her series Broad City, so that's a plus!
