- Callum22 décembre 2025⭐⭐⭐½ – Aspen Extreme – Snow, friendship, and hard landings Aspen Extreme looks every bit the slick early-90s ski movie you expect, but it’s not quite Top Gun on the slopes. What surprised me most on rewatch was how much of this is actually a drama rather than a pure adrenaline rush. Yes, the mountain shots are gorgeous and the skiing sequences deliver, but the heart of the film is really about uprooting your life, chasing a dream, and discovering how unforgiving that dream can be once you arrive. At its core, it’s a story about two best friends trying to make something work in a place that doesn’t particularly care if they succeed or fail. The film definitely takes some liberties with how quickly they find their footing in Aspen, but beneath that gloss there’s a solid, relatable thread about pride, money, and the strain ambition puts on friendship. Teri Polo stands out as the grounded local presence, bringing some much-needed balance and warmth to the story. She plays the role of quiet reality-check well, helping anchor the film whenever it threatens to drift too far into glossy fantasy. It’s not a classic, and it’s not as relentlessly fun as its premise might suggest, but Aspen Extreme is better than memory gives it credit for. A good-looking, surprisingly earnest film about chasing big dreams in cold places — and learning what they cost. 🥃 Drink Pairing A crisp alpine lager or a chilled pilsner — clean, refreshing, and best enjoyed after the hard work’s done.
- jackmeat12 juin 2025My quick rating - 6.2/10. Looks great. Not really "Top Gun on the ski slopes" but still a quality flick. I had forgotten that this movie is really more of a drama, and about the tribulations of up and moving to a new town and trying to make life work. Granted, there are some liberties taken in how they do once arriving in Aspen, but the story of two best friends doing what they have to is actually pretty good. Teri Polo is great, as always, as the level-headed local trying to help them out.
