It’s colourful without being garish, epic without being exhausting. The action is clear, energetic, and consistently entertaining, making this one of the most watchable entries in the DCEU. More importantly, this film feels like DC finally realising it doesn’t need to live in the shadow of Superman and Batman to tell compelling stories. Aquaman stands comfortably on its own, proving that myth, humour, and spectacle can coexist without leaning into relentless darkness. The real-world controversies surrounding the cast may cloud its future, but as a standalone film, it holds up remarkably well. This is blockbuster filmmaking that understands escapism isn’t a flaw — it’s the point. 🥃 Drink Pairing Talisker Skye — coastal, peppery, and bright. Salt air, movement, and confidence in a glass.
