Akide lives in a Beykoz neighborhood, close to the seaside with her youngest son, Ercan. Besides Ercan, Akide also has two sons, Maksut and Fikret, although her focus is entirely on the younger one. She is angry with Maksut and Fikret for marrying the girls they found, not their mother. She doesn't like her daughter-in-laws Saadet and Aysel, and the problems she has with them urge her to come up with a new plan: Akide swears to marry her youngest son Ercan to the woman she chooses. However, Ercan has already proposed to Duygu, the newly appointed nurse, to the Beykoz central health center. Duygu says that she would not marry Ercan without the consent of her mother since she was raised without a mother and places a high value on family bonds. This situation forces the two lovers to play a game. Under this game, Duygu was planning to approach Akide as though she didn't know Ercan at all, and she would make sure she loves her so that Akide would consider her as a daughter-in-law. Akide never warms up to Duygu, despite her best efforts to attract her, choose her, and introduce her to her son. She couldn't feel sympathetic for Duygu since the first time she saw her, she reminded her of her sister-in-law Kadriye, whom she had never liked.
